Euphoria star Angus Cloud REVEALS his character Fezco was initially meant to die in season one; Here’s why
Euphoria fans discovered a lot more about Fezco’s strange family life and past in the Season 2 debut of Euphoria, but actor Angus Cloud explains that nearly never occurred. Cloud made his acting debut in the blockbuster HBO series, with Cloud admitting in an interview with GQ that he was initially scheduled to be killed off in Season 1.
The actor claimed that series creator Sam Levinson eventually changed his mind and brought Fezco back, making him the focus of Season 2’s premiere. In a 2019 Wall Street Journal interview, the actor said that he was working at a chicken and waffles shop in Brooklyn when he was discovered by Euphoria casting agent Jennifer Venditti, who invited him to apply for the programme. Cloud revealed in the new GQ interview, as per Daily Mail, “I don’t know, but apparently, because they cast me off the street, I guess the character of Fezco was [never meant to stick around]. I don’t even know how. I never saw that script. No one ever told me.”
Cloud claimed that he just found out his character was intended to die when his co-star Jacob Elordi told him while they were filming the pilot episode. ‘It was one day when we were filming the pilot that I think Jacob told me, he was like, “Oh yeah, you didn’t know? Your character gets [imitates brains getting blown out],” Cloud said. However, Cloud believed that creator Levinson “liked what I did” enough to make him a recurrent part of the ensemble, which paid off spectacularly in the Season 2 premiere.
Meanwhile, Fezco appeared to try to bury the hatchet with Nate at the end of the episode, but instead he whacked him over the head with a bottle and ruthlessly beat him. Cloud stated that he was ‘super juiced up’ and ‘fired up’ while reading the screenplay for the premiere, but the sequence in which he beat up Nate wasn’t all that entertaining.

According to Deadline, the movie “is being described as a coming-of-age thriller at a university that encapsulates the wild excitement of being young and the dangers of living without fear of consequences.”
“The Line will be a profoundly nuanced portrait of a young man being sucked into this seemingly glamorous, rambunctious and familial unit,” Alex said in a statement. “Its heartbreak echoes a larger issue with men and their painful need for approval, love and nurture, letting you peer in on what seems like a utopia-like world for a young man, and how quickly one horrible accident can turn that world into a nightmare.”
Also cast in the movie are John Malkovich, Scoot McNairy, Jessica Barden and Lewis Pullman.
According to IMDb, Alex plays Tom Backster, Halle is Annabelle Bascom and Angus portrays Robert DeWitt.
Halle teased a few weeks ago that she was getting back to work, then the next day, shared photos of the sky and sunset in Oklahoma, where they are filming.
If you missed it, Halle‘s Freeform series grown-ish recently returned with new episodes, and she made a brief appearance via video chat. She likely won’t appear in a bigger capacity this season as her character has been off to compete in the Olympics, as she filmed The Little Mermaid in real life.
How old are Fez and Lexi in Euphoria? Angus Cloud clarifies Fez’s age
How old are Fez and Lexi in Euphoria? Angus Cloud clarifies Fez’s age

Fez, sweetie, how old actually are you?

After two episodes, Euphoria season 2 is wasting no time in introducing fans to a series of new couples and potential romances.
We’ve already got two possible relationship triangles brewing, with Nate and Cassie hooking up behind Nate’s ex-girlfriend Maddy’s back, and Jules feeling jealous of Rue and Elliot’s new friendship. But the one that’s currently got the fandom screaming? Fezco and Lexi Howard.
Yep, Fez and Cassie’s little sister Lexi appear to have caught feelings for each other and fans are living for it. However, some viewers are hesitant to start shipping because of the questions surrounding Fez’s actual age.
Fans have clocked a few details in season 1 that don’t quite match up with what we’ve learned about Fez so far in season 2. Has Euphoria changed Fez’s age? Here’s what we know.

While talking about Lexi’s conversation with Fez, it’s mentioned by Rue (who admittedly is not the most reliable narrator) in episode 2 that Lexi “couldn’t remember the last time someone her age asked her so many questions about herself”.
In a GQ interview, Angus Cloud also confirmed that Fez is “still a kid like everyone else” and that he’s “a year older” than the others, who are all 17 to 18 years old. Speaking about what’s coming up for Fez, Angus told the publication: “He’s still a kid like everyone else. He might be a year older, but he had to act like an adult from such a young age. But his inner kid is still in there and you get to see it come out slightly.”
Euphoria season 2 opens with Fez’s backstory, and we learn that he dropped out of school at a young age to help run his grandma’s drug business and take care of his little brother Ashtray.
Based on those new details in season 2, and the fact that he calls Rue his little sister, it appears as though Fez is around 19 years old.
Did Euphoria change Fez’s age?
Some fans are confused over whether or not Euphoria has actually retconned Fez’s age for season 2 and it all thanks to a conversation with Fez and Nate in season 1, episode 7.
During a scene where Fez confronts Nate in his convenience store, Nate comments that Fez “dropped out of school at 20”.
Nate’s comment implies that Fez is older than 20, but it seems like either Nate was completely mistaken about how old he actually is or the show has just… changed its mind about Fez’s age?
As we now know, Fez clearly dropped out of school when he was a lot younger than 20. Based on what we’ve seen in Euphoria season 2 so far, Fez does not appear to be in his 20s.

How old is Lexi in Euphoria?
Lexi (played by Maude Apatow) is Cassie’s younger sister. She’s 17, the same age as Rue and in the same year as her at school.
With Lexi being 17, she could be classed as a minor. Although, it’s tricky to work out the age of consent in whatever state Euphoria is meant to be set in because it’s never actually been explicitly stated.
Due to her being younger than Fez, who is possibly 2 years older than her, some fans are hesitant to start shipping the pair romantically.
While their newfound friendship appears to be blossoming into a romance, Lexi and Fez have not yet engaged in any sexual behaviour. As the episodes go on, we’re sure we’ll see more of their connection play out on screen. You never know, they might just end up being unlikely besties!

Everything We Know About The ‘Euphoria’ Cast’s Love Lives Off-Screen
If Euphoria is taking up 99% of your brain capacity right now, we feel you. It’s hard not to be obsessed with the completely chaotic show and the characters we’ve come to know and love. And, while the show is known for its incredibly steamy content , there’s been very little intermingling between cast members. Shocking, right? Especially given that the cast is comprised of the hottest people in the world right now. Well, as it turns out, most of them are in pretty committed relationships (and have been for quite some time). Luckily for them, their real-life relationships are far less chaotic and toxic than their onscreen counterparts, but hey, that certainly doesn’t make them any less interesting. Below, everything you need to know about the Euphoria cast’s love lives off-screen.
As we all know, Zendaya and Tom Holland (otherwise known as mum and dad) are the couple in Hollywood right now. After becoming best buddies while working together on the Spiderman film franchise, it was undoubtedly a slow burn for these two, but love won in the end. While the pair met in 2016, they weren’t romantically linked until 2021, when they were spotted kissing in a car, leading to those photos being leaked. “Having her in my life was so instrumental to my sanity,” Holland told GQ in 2021, before officially confirming that him and Zendaya were dating, and asking the media for their privacy to be respected. It’s been a whirlwind since then, with the couple now rumoured to have bought a house together in London, and yes, we’re holding out for an invitation.
After breaking up with his supermodel girlfriend, Kaia Gerber, in November 2018, Jacob Elordi didn’t wait long before moving on. A month later, he was spotted on a Los Angeles coffee date with influencer Olivia Jade, with multiple sources telling DeuxMoi that they’d been on several dates (including one which started at 1.30am). We haven’t heard much about the potential romance since, and Jacob has recently returned back home to Australia for a well-deserved rest after the chaotic filming schedule Euphoria is notorious for. Most recently, Olivia was seen stepping out of a West Hollywood hotel with a tall mystery man, so it looks like her romance with Jacob may have been fleeting or totally non-existent. Either way, we’re taking it as a win.
Perhaps the most disappointing news of all, is that Sydney Sweeney is not on the singles market. The fan-favourite actress has been dating 37-year old, Chicago-based restaurant owner, Jonathan Davino . The couple have been linked since October 2018, when they were photographed at a dinner for InStyle and Kate Spade at Spring Place. They’ve been photographed a handful of times over the years, but when pressed for details about Hawaii vacation, Sydney claimed she was “with a friend.” Before you get your hopes up, it’s likely she’s just trying to throw everyone off the scent and keep her relationship private (which is totally fair). She’s never posted Davino on her account so we don’t have any official confirmation, but it’s safe to say that we’re all waiting patiently.
Notoriously elusive cool-girl Alexa Demie is the master of keeping a low-profile, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know one or two things about her. Unlike her highly problematic relationship on-screen, Alexa’s off-screen relationship is a lot more carefree. She’s been dating Christian Berishaj (who you might know as JMSN) since 2017. The singer/songwriter has featured his girlfriend in two of his music videos, but are both very tight-lipped about their romance in interviews. In 2020, the pair were spotted on a beach vacation in Miami, where they splashed about in the water and sent the internet into a frenzy. While we’d usually tell you to sit tight for more details, being evasive is Alexa’s signature move, so it’s unlikely we’ll ever learn more about their love story. Either way, we’re very happy for her.
Barbie Ferreira has been a proud member of the queer community for several years now, telling New York Times Fashion & Style in 2019 that she’s “gay as hell.” Speaking to Out in 2019 she said: “I’m queer. In my private life, it’s been going on for a long time. I obviously don’t really identify as a straight woman ever in my life, but I feel like now I’m really in my queerness. I’m in L.A. living my L Word life. Isn’t it amazing?” Barbie is now dating musician and songwriter Elle Puckett, and they appear to be incredibly loved-up. In 2019, the couple took a trip to Fiji to celebrate Barbie’s birthday, and later attended the movie premiere for Unpregnant in September 2020.
Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike have found themselves at the centre of the rumour dating mill of late, after being spotted leaving a restaurant together and holding hands. As we now know, season two sees a love story unfold between their two characters, so it’s not too surprising that it may have translated off-screen. A few nights prior to the dinner, Hunter had been spotted at one of Dominic’s concerts and according to gossip guru Deux Moi, someone claimed to have seen Hunter backstage at the show, while another claimed they had spotted the two kissing while at Nice Guy restaurant. Neither have actually confirmed the relationship, so it’s all speculation for now, but understandably, everyone is hoping that it’s true.
Maude Apatow appears to be single right now, but before you get your hopes up, she isn’t dating Angus Cloud (sadly). She was previously linked to talent manager Charlie Christie, when they publicly announced their relationship in April 2018. Unfortunately, it seems they are no longer together, with Maude wiping all their couple photos from her Instagram account. In June 2021, Charlie posted a photo with a girl who appears to be his new girlfriend, although little is known right now. Maude has been busy promoting season two of Euphoria, so it’s likely love isn’t on the brain right now, anyway.
